Institutional Readiness for Emerging Private Equity Platforms
Senior, vendor-neutral operating support so investor scrutiny validates your platform rather than exposes it.
Senior, vendor-neutral operating support so investor scrutiny validates your platform rather than exposes it.
Lake Katrine Consulting works with emerging private equity managers and seed partners at moments where architectural decisions shape long-term success.
Our work is grounded in real-world experience and focused on practical operating decisions - sequencing, vendor selection, controls, and team design - that reduce execution risk and accelerate readiness.
COMMON FOUNDER PITFALLS WE HELP AVOID:

We primarily support Emerging Managers and GP Seed & GP Stake platforms.
The LP and Established GP work is selective and situation-specific.
Operating guidance for founders launching first or second institutional funds supporting diligence-ready infrastructure, fundraising preparedness, and early scale.
Independent operating perspective across your GP portfolio, focused on platform durability, operating oversight, risk mitigation, and institutional standards.
Selective advisory bringing an independent operating lens to platform complexity, transition, and investor scrutiny — across governance design, valuation oversight, and co-investment evaluation.
We work with a limited number of clients to ensure focus, discretion, and senior-level involvement — typically at moments where operating decisions carry outsized long-term impact. Work is structured around defined build sequences and operating domains.
Engagements range from targeted diligence support to 90-120 day build sprints and ongoing advisory. Representative work includes first-close readiness, vendor stack redesign, and operating diagnostics.

Lake Katrine Consulting is led by Peter Lyons, a former Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer at a middle-market private equity firm.
Over more than two decades, he helped scale the platform from its first $40 million fund to over $4 billion in assets under management across flagship funds, growth strategies, continuation vehicles, and passthrough investment structures. He led the design of governance frameworks, vendor architecture, financial controls, and reporting systems capable of withstanding institutional diligence and regulatory examination — and modernized the firm’s technology stack across fund administration, CRM, portfolio monitoring, compliance, and investor reporting infrastructure.
As an advisor, he has served as acting COO to emerging managers — accelerating platform buildout, vendor onboarding, and institutional readiness from firm launch through first close. His experience brings a practical operating lens to moments when platforms are tested and decisions compound.
